You do not need to have specific skills or previous snorkelling experience*. Your Snorkel Safari instructor can guide you through all of the required skills to become a safe and competent snorkeler. Some of the skills you will learn on your Snorkel Safari Snorkel Course include:
- Flotation techniques
- Clearing your mask
- Clearing your snorkel
- Surface swimming
- Surface dives
- Underwater manoeuvres
The fun training program will also cover a range of topics, providing you with a valuable understanding about your snorkelling equipment, the pressure effects of air and water on the body and a general awareness of the marine environment.

There are many places just below the surface that are filled with brilliant colours, incredible marine life and spectacular reefs that are waiting for you to discover and explore. As you surface dive more often you may find yourself wanting to venture deeper, or enjoy the wonder of the underwater world longer. If you want to take your exploration of the underwater world to a whole new level, Snorkel Safari offers two continuing pathways: The SSI Level 1 Freediver Course and the SSI Open Water Diver Course.
What's Involved
The Snorkel Safari- Ringwood Snorkel course consists of three (3) modules which are completed over a single day. You will begin your day a our training facility in Ringwood to review your academic home study completed prior to the day wit your instructor. From here you will head to the pool where you will learn, practice and master all of the skills necessary to make your snorkelling safe and enjoyable. The afternoon is spent completing an Open Water snorkel dive with your instructor and fellow classmates at one of the stunning snorkelling destinations around Port Phillip Bay and Westernport where you will not only practice and put everything your have learnt into practice but discover the amazing sights just below the surface including Sea Horses, Giant Bullrays, Abundant Schools of Fish and maybe even a seal or dolphin.
Upon completion of the program you will receive a Wall Diploma/Certificate of Completion and your SSI Snorkel Diver certification card.

- Completion of Medical Questionaire prior to commencement.
